Quality Assurance Analyst (New York, NY). JW Player seeks a Quality Assurance Analyst to utilize advanced knowledge of software and video platforms to determine computer software needed to alter acceptance criteria system and develop, document, and revise detailed system test plans for our various software and video platforms. This role will ensure internal software and video platform are working without any flaws, bugs, and prevent any future technological issues from arising with these products. Specific responsibilities include:

• Execute hands-on functional testing on JW Player products, testing integrations across multiple platforms and configuration scenarios to prepare for implementation;
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of video encoding, ad networks, content management platforms, and streaming protocols to test existing software and video platforms;
• Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures;
• Test system modifications to prepare for implementation;
• Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability;
• Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers; and,
• Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.

Position Requirements: 3 years of professional experience in a video design or QA software engineering role. Experience must include each of the following, which may be gained concurrently:

• 3 years’ experience with Software quality assurance engineering
• 3 years’ experience with Debugging HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
• 2 years’ experience writing Python scripts
• 2 years’ experience testing APIs
• 3 years’ experience finding UX/UI bugs, and being the voice of good usability
• 2 years’ experience testing eCommerce and direct sold payment systems
• 3 years’ experience using open source tools like Git and Jenkins
• 2 years’ experience with analyzing feature requests/requirements, and determining potential tests that should be created
• 2 years’ experience performing software testing both manual and automation
• 2 years’ experience researching and implementation of software testing tools (Cucumber, Capybara, Webdriver, RSpec).
• 3 years’ experience with web video (HTML5 or Flash)
• 3 years’ experience with video encoding, ad networks, content management platforms, and streaming protocols
• 3 years’ experience with various video formats, including H.264, vp8. vp9, flv, MPEG —2; transcoding software, including: Procoder, Carbon Coder, ffmpeg and gstreamer
