CB Insights is hiring a summer research intern who will work closely with the research team, assisting analysts and editors in the production of data-driven reports and content for the blog and the daily newsletter. The intern will also have an opportunity to work closely with the Future of Fintech event team, producing conference-related content.

This role offers a crash course in the startup/venture capital ecosystem and the opportunity to be part of an industry-leading research team.

Key responsibilities during the 10-week internship:

• Assist the editors with headline writing, copy editing, and fact-checking. Assist with other day-to-day tasks like archiving as needed
• Assist with categorizing companies and startups
• Learn to work with the CB Insights platform and identify emerging technology trends
• Create market maps and other data visualizations for the blog. Propose research ideas and write related content for the blog
• Help in production and editing for special projects, including webinars, in-depth reports, and events

Required skills

• Strong grasp of numbers and data and a zeal for accuracy
• Basic excel analytical skills
• Interest in learning about tech startups and venture capital
• Strong writing and communication/presentation skills.
• The ability to attach a narrative to quantitative data
