Knotch is looking for a senior backend developer to join our team. Our client base is rapidly growing, and we’re seeing our tech distributed on content for some of the coolest brands on some of the largest publications. Despite our product’s success and growth, our team is still very lean and nimble, like a spider monkey, or a cat shark, or any other hybrid beast. Our team size and product reach allows for some interesting opportunities and challenges:

  Our product is young, so we don’t have a legacy to work around. The best solution (the one you come up with) is the solution we’ll use.

  We work closely with our clients to develop a product that properly serves them, and we have a rapid prototyping and development cycle. Something you start building one week may end up in production the week after.

  We’re a small team, so you’ll be given a load of responsibility as soon as you join. You’ll have the power (and responsibility!) to take ownership on entire parts of the architecture. Your work will directly impact every part of the way our product functions.

We’re not a needy bunch, but we’ll need the following from you:

  You know how the web works, from a browser down to a DB. You’re an expert in in AWS, Node.js, MongoDB, and have experience working with HTML & CSS

  You have to be a self starter and know how to take responsibility for entire projects, as you will work on all of our range of products, including our public and private APIs, web apps, and internal tools, and will deploy and upkeep our Amazon Web Server instances.

• 
  

  Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and working with Service Oriented Architecture is highly desirable.

  You must be located in New York.
