Are you a visionary engineering leader who wants to shape the future of education? Knewton is looking for a seasoned Senior Front End Engineer to join our Teacher Analytics team. You will be building a product that teachers use to better serve their students - this includes the ability to design courses that adapt to student proficiencies as well as the ability to drill into demonstrated and inferred student competency. This is a lynchpin role and calls for a highly detail oriented individual with serious entrepreneurial drive and extraordinary flexibility to meet the demands at a high-energy start-up.

• Be a thought leader and actively engage in continuously improving practices and methodology
• Display strategic thinking and deliver sustainable solutions, keeping an eye towards simplicity, scalability, extensibility, and performance
• Be actively involved with and influence the direction of industry groups and open-source communities
• Identify standards based solutions to integrate into our development process and drive adoption via mentoring and communication across the organization
• Work collaboratively with the stakeholders and project team members to deliver front-end focused features to customers with quality

What we’re looking for:

• 6+ years experience in software development, 4+ years of which are specific to front-end technologies
• Proven full lifecycle development experience on large projects, creating distributed and scalable solutions
• In-depth understanding of advanced Javascript concepts such as prototypal and functional inheritance, closures, and reactive programming
• Extensive experience with with common JavaScript libraries and frameworks - Node.js, Express, React, and Redux
• Experience using an analytics suite like Mixpanel to learn about user behavior
