The Senior Manager, IT Audit & Compliance is responsible for developing, managing, tracking, and supporting Yext’s IT regulatory and compliance programs, covering the development and operation of both our internal business systems and the SaaS product we deliver to our customers. They conduct ongoing assessments of security and compliance risks and, based on their assessments and those of outside auditors and advisors/consultants, work with Engineering and IT leadership to drive the process improvements and installation of controls to remediate issues and reduce risk. They work closely with external auditors to address information requests, track issues, and negotiate remediation strategies in connection with SOC-2 certification, SOX compliance, and annual financial audits.
This position reports directly to the CIO and works closely with both the Audit department that sits in the finance organization and the InfoSec team in IT.
Responsibilities
- With help from outside auditors, perform ongoing assessments of software development and operations processes to identify control gaps and risk areas
- Track all in-scope systems and processes, their owners, documentation, and controls, along with known issues and remediation plans
- Work with IT process owners to develop, document, and refine processes and related controls
- Perform internal testing of IT-related controls and follow up with process owners to resolve issues
- Ensure that routine control processes are executed
- Manage auditors for all matters related to IT, including IT issues related to SOC-2, SOX, and financial audits. Negotiate with auditors to design ways of meeting compliance objectives that fully address concerns while minimizing cost to the business.
- Drive the collection and delivery of information to auditors
- Manage and drive projects to achieve specific compliance objectives
- Advise on compliance issues related to proposed development work in the product and business systems
- Continually maintain current knowledge of industry best practices and developments, serving as a comprehensive IT compliance resource for the company
- Maintain, test, and update IT aspects of Yext’s business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Develop and deliver IT-related training as needed for compliance
- Assist in the development and ongoing support of Yext’s vendor risk management program
Requirements
- IT-related audit or compliance experience (5+ years)
- Bachelor’s degree in IT- or accounting-related discipline
- Substantive technical background through education or practical experience
- Strong project management skills
- Strong cross-functional communication skills
- Experience in organizations that use cloud-based/SaaS business systems, build SaaS products, and use agile software development methodology
- Ability and willingness to be hands-on and dive into details of specific software systems, permissions, data models, and integrations
- Working knowledge of information security and computer network, server, database, and user access technologies
- Significant knowledge of information technology processes and controls and regulatory frameworks and control requirements, such as COBIT, Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI Data Security Standards, and Data Privacy and Protection legislation. (CISA or equivalent Information Technology audit or security certifications are preferred.)
