Description:

LearnVest is looking for a talented Senior Product Manager to help shape and lead a transformational effort for our Field Experience (FX) platform for Northwestern Mutual (NM). This individual will be on the ground working across Technology, Design, Marketing, Senior Leadership and key business stakeholders and will own the products from ideation to delivery.

Reporting to the Product Director, the Sr. Product Manager is responsible for the visioning and management of product integrations aligned with the business objectives of NM. Scope of responsibility includes oversight and management of two or more product managers, multiple products, leveraging various skill-sets ensuring a consistent usage of standard product management practices (primarily Agile). Provide overall leadership, vision, strategic planning and oversight of supporting tactical execution plans to ensure successful delivery against the overall delivery roadmap. The role blends program management, relationship management and product development skills. 

Responsibilities:

  • Create amazing user experiences for the field and home office
  • Formulate, gain alignment, and execute on program approach, end state vision and roadmap for the program
  • Identify resources needed, timeline and implement project management plans to ensure successful delivery of the overall client program
  • Ensure predictable, consistent, and successful program delivery through direct management and overall coordination of all program related projects and tracks of work
  • Work closely with implementation team (designers, architects, engineers) to estimate, quantify and monitor project scope, architecture and development work-streams, and product quality.
  • Foster and maintain client relationships and be seen as single point of escalation during implementation.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships and strategic partnerships with external and internal key stakeholders/customers across groups and/or business units to maximize effectiveness and influence.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the client that includes their business drivers and strategies, competitive position in the marketplace, industry trends, key strategic partner relationships, as well as key executives and decision makers, etc.
  • Accountable for the development and maintenance of all scope related documentation, requirements documentation and creation of business process documentation where applicable.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of product management experience delivering large complex programs (portfolio of projects)
  • 5+ years of experience in custom product development, systems integration, and/or software development having worked closely with engineers.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Computer Science degree strongly preferred
  • Ability to excel in a team environment 
  • Demonstrated creative problem solving ability 
  • Effective oral, presentation, and written communication skills 
  • Able to gain the confidence of customer executives and senior management team
  • Ability to act autonomously
  • Highest standards of ethical and professional behavior, consistent with the company’s values
