You will help shape how the world perceives and interacts with artnet on a global scale by designing and building world-class products and services. Your responsibilities will include establishing technology standards, introducing shared infrastructure models, standardizing main business processes, identifying core technology assets, and providing centralized platform governance. Equally important will be your complete comfort with and control of converting strategic goals and initiatives into software standardization, optimal data structure, information flow, and performance optimization to deliver increased customer engagement. You will be working from our New York office, located in the historic Woolworth Building, as artnet leads the way in the growing art industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineer world-class enterprise products and services by partnering with product owners and others engineers
  • Apply advanced analysis skills and experience in principals of architecture to help define appropriate solutions
  • Work collaboratively with engineering peers to support technical implementations
  • Follow engineering best practices to ensure quality standards are met and maintained
  • Collaborate with product owners and technical leadership to establish and prioritize short-term sprint goals
  • Help product managers groom the backlog’s epics and stories to align with platform long-term vision

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or similar technical field; masters preferred
  • Experience with the following:
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Developing WordPress themes, plugins, and widgets
  • Galera, HA Proxy, and Hyper DB
  • NGINX and HHVM
  • ReactJS or AngularJS
  • Understanding of product lifecycle development, including design, code, testing, release, and post-release maintenance in an agile environment
  • Knowledge of MVC patterns and best practices
  • Drive to master emerging technologies and share experiences with team members
  • Desire to work in a competitive, fast paced, and complex environment
  • Appreciation for SAAS and understanding the value of open API standards
  • Knowledge and experience with Relational Databases like SQL Server
  • Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed
  • Experience with ASP.NET, SOLR, C, C#, Java and open source stacks a plus
