We are looking for a talented systems administrator to join our team. In this integral position, you will serve as right hand to the CTO to ensure artnet’s systems meet our users’ high expectations. As the senior systems administrator, you will maintain security for confidential information, such as personnel, finances, communications, and security systems. Duties also include powershell scripting, light programming, and project management for strategic initiatives. You will be responsible for effective provisioning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the entire company’s infrastructure, including disaster recovery and remote offices. This position requires being on call, and working weekends or late nights periodically.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the server infrastructure to ensure a 99% reliability rate for production environment and all IT services worldwide
  • Manage server virtualization technologies such as VMWare Server/ESX
  • Experience with SAN technologies
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration
  • Administer networks such as LAN routing, switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting (VLANs, IP Subnetting, Trunks)
  • Serve as the primary resource for the installation and maintenance of network systems
  • Collaborate with the software release manager to support QA, production, and failover site releases
  • Assist software developers in analyzing programming issues and apply bug fixes to live products and infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft IIS application and configuration
  • Monitor and troubleshoot the VoIP phone system
  • Maintain backups of server and network appliance configurations and data
  • Apply updates to servers and appliances
  • Install and configure new hardware and software
  • Manage active directory, DNS, and group policy design
  • Oversee system logs and activity on all servers and devices
  • Provide reports on network performance, security, and reliability
  • Research and test new hardware and software
  • Provide level 3 desktop and server support services
  • Maintain documentation for servers, network, and customer support

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5–7 years of systems administrator experience in a virtualized corporate environment, including installing, supporting, and maintaining VMWare 4/5 and Windows 2003/2008
  • Expertise with the following:
  • Clustering
  • Exchange 2010
  • IIS
  • SQL Server 2005/2008
  • Printer and file servers
  • SAN/NAS/TAPE storage and backup solutions
  • Antivirus systems
  • Wireless access points
  • Remote computing environments such as RDP, Terminal Services, and Citrix 6
  • Strong working knowledge of the latest best practice standards and guidelines, such as ITIL, COBIT, and PCI
  • Networking experience with the following: 
  • Cisco systems: VPN, Firewalls, Switches, Routers
  • Dell SonicWALL: Next-Gen Firewalls
  • Dell Power connect: Switches
  • Dell N Series Switches: 10G Switches
  • Force10: Switches
  • Kemp: Load Balancers
  • Meraki: Wireless
  • Experience with IP-based telephonic systems
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Advanced customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization skills
  • Minimum 40 hours per week commitment, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call duties
  • Experience with building datacenters, wiring, and racking a plus
  • Familiarity with systems management solutions a plus
