The Social Media Coordinator should be obsessed with all things social. You should be the first person to know whatever is trending on Facebook and have an infinite supply of witty, funny, engaging, and on-brand copy for our channels. You will manage the daily schedule of content on two of Thrillist’s Facebook pages, Twitter, and Pinterest.

You’ll be front & center responding to our audience in real time across all platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube) so you will need to quickly master the Thrillist voice and come armed with snappy copy to keep our fans on their toes and engaged with our content. You will work closely with the social media team to continue developing Thrillist’s growing presence on multiple platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule daily content on two Facebook pages, Twitter, and Pinterest
  • Continually learn the best ways to optimize our content and grow our channels
  • Manage post times and frequency of all incoming content from cross -functional teams.
  • Interact with users, answering any questions and engaging in discussion when appropriate
  • Create and monitor campaign ads in Facebook Business Manager
  • Collaborate with editorial and video teams to dissect videos and continually improve the quality of Thrillist content on social media
  • Interact with users, answering any questions and engaging in discussion when appropriate
  • Track trending news and internet moments and find creative ways for Thrillist to be a part of the conversation
  • Keep up with relevant social media news, updates, tools, platforms, and best practices

Qualifications:

  • 6 months to 2 years experience in a social media role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or a similar field
  • High attention-to-detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience writing/self-editing punchy, grammatically correct, highly engaging statuses, tweets, captions, etc.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and high-energy environment
  • A hunger to learn more about the ever-changing landscape of social media
  • Enthusiastic and goal driven with the ability to proactively follow-up and follow-through on all projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An appreciation for puns, as well as a keen sense of when you’ve overpun’d it
  • Understanding of Facebook audience behavior, engagement strategies, what makes people share things on Facebook, and what makes people feel an affinity to a publisher on social media
  • Understanding of Twitter’s value in modern media, and how to participate in it
  • A hunger to learn more about the ever-changing landscape of social media
  • Basic knowledge of Google Analytics; Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest Insights; and Photoshop is a plus.
  • Willingness to react to Slack messages with emojis & GIFs
