Software Engineer, Video Player (New York, NY). The Software Engineer will serve on a cross functional team with the Product Manager, Quality Assurance Engineers, and Executive stakeholders to define business requirements and give input on setting product direction of various software solutions for the company. The Software Engineer will also be responsible for the design and build out of cross-platform components using the latest web technologies including Javascript, Git, Grunt, CommonJS/AMD, Node and ActionScript. Specific duties of the position include:

• Assist with the development of the digital web video, third party advertising, software analytics, and social media products;
• Develop technical specifications and oversee the maintenance of new product releases; 
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of video encoding, ad networks, content management platforms, and streaming protocols to test existing software and video platforms;
• Identify, analyze, and document problems with the various software program functionality, output, online screen, and/or content; and,
• Identify software defects, using a bug tracking system, and work on bug resolution.

 Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field plus five years’ of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineer working with Javascript programming languages. Experience must include the following which may be gained concurrently:

• 5 years’ experience identifying, analyzing, and documenting problems with the various software program functionalities, outputs, online screens, and/or content;
• 4 years’ experience developing digital web videos, third party advertising, software analytics, and social media products;
• 5 years’ experience utilizing web technologies including Javascript, Git, Grunt, CommonJS/AMD, Node and ActionScript;
• 4 years’ experience with implementing and improving unit test code coverage, as well as supporting automated testing, using QUnit, Jasmine, Karma, Selenium and WebDriver;
• 4 years’ experience managing and maintaining large projects, working closely with engineers, test engineers, user experience designers and product managers.
