As a Software Engineer on the Web & CMS Team, you will help enhance and build the next generation of LearnVest’s consumer-facing web presence, including the underlying tools and architecture which powers it. You will be a member of a highly skilled and motivated team, within a Scrum/Agile workflow, working with current web technologies and best practices.

Your general milestones are:

• Within one month, be a sponge, get up to speed by ramping up quickly on the code base, and star taking on tasks while contributing to the team.
• Within two months, establish goals for career growth which are aligned with your team and business objectives.
• Within three months, be a fully contributing member of the team, with full knowledge of the current architecture and direction of the project.

• 2+ years professional experience working on an engineering team, building large-scale, and high-traffic websites.
• Strong fundamental understanding of both front-end/back-end web development technologies and Responsive Web Design.
• In-depth working knowledge of JavaScript, including experience with Node.js and various libraries/frameworks.
• Experience with automated unit and integration tests to support continuous integration tools.
• Passion for writing semantic, standards ­compliant and cross-­browser HTML/CSS.
• Understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and familiarity with Jira are pluses.
• B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Math, or related fields are a plus.
