We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our QA Team at Intersection.

We believe that Quality Assurance starts when the project starts, not when the developers are finished. Quality Assurance Engineers are part of every phase of the project and its core team from beginning to end. We’re looking for a candidate who doesn’t want to just make sure it isn’t broken, but want to make sure it’s the best of its kind.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of automated testing tools. Implementing automated test scripts based upon product specification documents and business user interactions for each release
  • Work within the Agile scrum software development methodology
  • As part of a small team, creatively fill needs as they are identified
  • Implement and develop load testing and API testing tools
  • Understanding and familiarity with Usability and User Experience process
  • Work closely with other QA Engineers, Developers, Designers and Product Owners
  • Track record of being able to both go broad and go deep across a variety of subjects
  • Create, shape, and monitor test plans for scalability, security, functionality, and usability for successful code deployments
  • Implementing, executing and capturing results of test plans/test scripts/test cases
  • Utilize Jira Issue Management System to track and manage issue (bug) status
  • Ensuring overall excellence in all products we release
  • Participating in sprint planning meetings and daily standup meetings

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Experience with writing scripts to automate tasks
  • Test products to ensure that they meet requirements, conform to design specifications and perform according to quality standards
  • Analyze and design new or modified QA procedures and standards and participate in the development and implementation of QA metrics for assessing the quality of delivered application software
  • All varieties of testing, including manual, automated, integration, security, front-end, and back-end
  • Build and maintain test tools and test applications to perform functional, load, and performance testing
  • Think strategically and share strategic insights with Product Owner, Scrum Master, and team
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Hands-on approach with ability to deliver to commitments
  • A desire to learn and improve skills and knowledge
  • Act as a client and/or user advocate when appropriate and treat every project like it's your own. QA for us is not just about confirming that the user can use it, but also about making sure the user would want to use it

 

Required Qualification:

  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience across the various facets of the SDLC process with a specific focus on QA automation, test strategy, and execution
  • Demonstrable web, mobile, embedded, or physical installation project experience
  • Experience developing overall test strategy and plans for complex system implementations including a variety of technologies and design patterns
  • GitHub (or similar) account for code review of patches and projects
  • Experience with at least a few of the following: Python, iOS, Android, HTML, CSS, Java, C/C++, AWS
  • Experience working with automation testing frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Robot, Sikuli, Graph Walker, Appium), and developing testing scripts
  • Experience with Test-Driven, or Behavior-Driven Design methodologies
  • Understanding and appreciation of adaptive development methods (agile/scrum)
  • Familiarity with Continuous Build Systems such as Jenkins or Bamboo
  • Excellent time management and task/effort estimation skills
  • Experience with LINUX command-line environments (preferred)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
  • Strong analysis and autonomous problem discovery and solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a creative thinker
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment, adjusting appropriately to changes to business, resource, or product priorities
  • College degree. Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Management are preferred
  • A good reputation and references in prior engagements
