Shutterstock is seeking a Senior Director, Marketing Technology with a proven track record in Architecting, Delivering, and Managing a complex marketing technology organization at web scale.

You should have a strong grasp of the people, process, and technology for operating and driving a MarTech organization. The key to this role is being able to translate the Marketing Vision into action across the people, process, and technology.

At a minimum, you should have experience in modern omnichannel marketing concepts and can display the insight and know how to apply technology to meet the Marketing team’s strategy and roadmap to execute. Assumed is strong communication (written and oral) skills at a senior level and ability to collaborate across the Shutterstock eco-system.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the CMO vision as it applies to the Marketing Technology stack. This includes mapping the vision from today’s capabilities to tomorrow's outcomes.
  • Communicate in terms of business outcomes and aligning to market and product priorities within the MarTech stack.
  • Managing teams (including direct, indirect and matrixed) and project timelines for building and managing outcomes that support Marketing initiatives.
  • Capture and document requirements for all aspects of the MArtech Eco-system. From architecture, planning, implementation, and operational process.
  • Manage existing vendor tech stack while constantly researching for new technologies to drive Marketing capabilities and growth opportunities.
  • Participate in new business development opportunities by contributing to the outcome given your area of responsibility.
  • Provide technology delivery leadership in the MarTech organization.
  • Provide constant process improvements within the MArtech scope.
  • Performing resource management, forecasting, leadership, and team building.
  • Provide guidance to Marketing, Product, Dev, Data, and Business System teams on Strategy, Architecture, technical capabilities, staffing and infrastructure needs.
  • Proactively identify and address project risks.
  • Empower and guide the team through the Software Development Life Cycle, Integration, and operating of platforms for continuous delivery and improvement.
  • Enforce operational excellence and compliance.
  • Manage the quality and timeliness of updates and deliverables.
  • Ensure that production procedure, change management, documentation, and control are followed and continuously enhanced.
  • Serve as first line of escalation from the project delivery teams on major operations issues and delivery challenges.
  • Communicate across the company to review MarTech performance, resolve delivery issues and plan future phases of work.
  • Manage career paths by coaching and mentoring direct and indirect reports.
  • Contribute to design and continue improvement of our marketing platforms.

 

Process:

  • Evaluate and enhance performance marketing and CRM tactics, strategies, and measurement (SEM, SEO, email, display, etc)
  • Ability to groom backlog, create epics/user stories and align a small team of developers and cross-functional teams
  • Develop a Marketing technology architecture and Roadmap
  • Ability to work cross-functionally on broader technical or systems initiatives.
  • Track record of achievements. You have shipped multiple products that successfully boosted process optimization, product delivery, and revenue
  • Significant experience with building internal tools for system-wide initiatives.
  • Develop end to process with solutions all the way from top-level goals to operational details.
  • Partner with TPM to execute roadmap deliverables

Qualifications:

  • Strong client interfacing background required
  • Proven ability to mentor reports and team members
  • Ability to communicate complex marketing technology concepts to marketers
  • 10 years' experience with software implementations from requirements through design, development and client acceptance
  • 10 years' experience in relational databases, application design, and support
  • Strong knowledge of deploying and managing systems in public cloud such as AWS that can scale on demand
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of between20 individuals distributed over multiple locations in different time zones
  • Working knowledge of data integration, reporting & insights (Tableau, Business Objects), marketing tool stack (Adobe, IBM, Oracle, Salesforce/ExactTarget) and/or CRM databases and loyalty engines
  • Experience with multiple relational and/or NoSQL platforms (MySQL, Cassandra etc.)
  • Ability to handle program management across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • MIS degree, or BS in Computer Science, or related discipline
