Mic is expanding its video production and is looking for a studio and equipment technician to join the video team in the NYC office. The new team member will be responsible for tracking and coordinating the use of all field and studio video production equipment, as well as keeping that equipment in top working order. Mic is looking for a detail-oriented and ambitious technician to help increase efficiency across all of our video teams and also contribute to our technology decisions as we continue to build out our video team across platforms. The studio and equipment technician will report to Mic’s Director of Studio & Technology.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Organize, inventory and track all existing Mic video production equipment, including cameras, lenses, microphones, drones, stabilizers, tripods, stands, lighting, cabling, etc
  • Maintain the working effectiveness of all Mic video production equipment, including coordination of repairs or replacement as needed
  • Coordinate/schedule equipment usage with directors and producers across all Mic video teams to increase efficiency and eliminate friction, as well as prevent loss or damage
  • Work with the Director of Studio & Technology to ensure that the equipment and technology needs of Mic’s video teams are met, including helping plan for future technology acquisition
  • Manage all scheduling and coordination of various shoots (ie Facebook Live, Branded Content, Mic Visions, and Mic Talent Team)

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in a technical role in video production
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
  • Process-oriented, extremely organized
  • Highly communicative and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and manage multiple projects and prioritize assignments

Bonus:

  • Extensive in-studio lighting and shooting experience
  • Experience overseeing production in a real-time breaking news environment
