The Job 

We’re looking for a full time System Administrator with a love of audio systems to join the engineering team here at Gimlet. This person will work with a team of audio engineers, along with Gimlet’s Technical Director and external IT support to upkeep, upgrade, and build out new networking systems to support our growing staff and expanding facilities. This is a unique role, as we are looking for someone with strong system / network administration experience who also has a background in broadcast, recording studio, or media post production environments. The ideal candidate will be able to seamlessly integrate file servers, recording equipment, and audio software- after all, almost all of Gimlet works on a Mac, and most of our team uses ProTools daily. This person must be able to work in harmony with different teams, from sales to creative, in order to understand the way we use technology throughout the company. The ability to multi-task and prioritize will be key.

What You’ll Do:

  • Help transition ~100 Macs to a properly managed platform via JAMF or similar, and work toward Apple DEP and MDM solutions
  • Procure, deploy and manage all existing and new computers and peripherals / repairs
  • Provide basic help-desk support to staff for facility systems like Wifi, printers, conference room systems, shared server connectivity, etc.
  • Provide same support for remote users via ARD and TeamViewer
  • Manage technical end of relationships with phone, internet, and other facility services
  • Maintain database of software licenses, electronics inventories, etc.
  • Help with the transition from analog recording studios to AoIP technology - likely via Dante networking
  • Push Gimlet towards higher levels of security through password management, multi step verification, and directory services

What you have:

  • 3 years of experience working in an Apple-oriented administration environment
  • Solid understanding of Audio systems in networking: Dante and other AoIP technologies
  • Familiarity with AVID / Pro Tools and understanding of licensing models
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Mac / OSX troubleshooting abilities: Apple Certified Technician a plus
  • Understanding of network topologies, switch infrastructure, enterprise level wifi solutions
