theSkimm’s small social media team are scrappy, creative thinkers who are dedicated to expanding our platforms and bringing theSkimm’s voice and brand to life. We’re looking for someone who understands theSkimm’s message and can help to materialize it in a photo, video, meme, and interpretive dance. You get it. In this role you will develop social media skills in photography, graphic design, video production, and brand marketing. We need a self-starter who can adapt quickly and help us Grow This (social) B.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING- Assisting with monitoring and scheduling posts
- Assisting with sourcing content across platforms, especially Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Pinterest, and setting up photo and video shoots
- Assisting with copyediting and fact-checking content
- Participating in creative brainstorms for daily posts and larger company campaigns
- Acting as Skimm HQ DJ when called upon
- You are passionate about community, content, and social media
- You are extremely creative and resourceful
- You have a strong understanding of theSkimm’s brand, and can communicate its message with consistency
- You have some experience producing cross-platform social media for a brand
- You can identify news beats
- You have a desire to learn new skills and get outside your comfort zone
- You are a team player
- You are a Skimm’bassador
- You are data-driven and have some understanding of social media KPIs
- You have experience working for a digital media, news, or startup brand
- You have graphic design experience
- You have video production experience
