Talent Development Project Manager
The People Operations function is looking for a Talent Development Project Manager to join the team. This will be an excellent opportunity to make an impact across various areas of Human Resources on a growing team. This role will both lead and support projects and processes across Learning & Development and the HR Business Partner team. This person will own the performance management process, in addition to helping design manager development programs, employee engagement initiatives, career development strategies, and other key People Team efforts aimed at sustaining and enhancing our culture.
Responsibilities:
- Own the design and program management for the bi-annual performance review and promotions process
- Champion employee development by working with business leaders and HRBPs on enhancing career development ladders and competency models to ensure that employees have a clear path for growth at Flatiron
- Facilitate the creation and rollout of continuing manager education modules on topics such as performance management, onboarding, compensation, and career development as part of our evolving manager development curriculum
- Manage the internal communications and rollout of new talent policies and programs
- Collaborate with team on the execution, analysis, and action plan for the annual engagement survey to identify data-driven initiatives for sustaining Flatiron’s culture
- Conduct annual manager upward feedback process, analyze data, link results to training impact, and leverage this information to drive changes to the management curriculum
- Work with the Learning & Development team on the design and implementation of new training programs and professional development initiatives
- Support the design and facilitation of talent reviews and succession planning processes in collaboration with HRBPs
- Support other projects and programs across the People Ops team as needed
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree required
- 4-8 years of relevant work experience in HR
- Knowledge of HR best practices, trends, and policies across a wide range of content areas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to comfortably present and write ideas in a way that takes the audience into account, strikes the right level of detail, and provides appropriate context
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills including: can build rapport quickly with teammates, internal stakeholders, managers, and employees
- Superior organizational skills, project management abilities, and excellent attention to detail are a must. Thrives on getting things done both quickly and accurately
- Maintains the highest standard of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
- Practical, business-oriented approach to problem solving with the ability to analyze complex issues quickly and communicate observations and recommendations
- Demonstrates executive presence and comfort presenting to leaders of all levels
- Must be a highly collaborative team player and boast a “can do attitude”, with the ability to forge great relationships both within and outside the People Ops team
- Enjoys a “roll up your sleeves” environment and is comfortable working with ambiguity in a fast-paced and challenging workplace
- Experience with performance management software and systems is preferred
- Personality that exudes warmth, caring, and passion, as well as a poised, “client-service” oriented mentality
