BuzzFeed Tech is seeking a personable and engaging leader to help grow tech community initiatives including tech talks, meetups, hackathons and conferences. We need an advocate to build and execute a brand strategy for the tech org at BuzzFeed internally and externally. This strategy will include social media, marketing, representation at conferences including our booths, events, and speakers. You will partner with our public relations team to identify opportunities in the global tech community for BuzzFeed tech team members to speak and engage in public forums as well. You will write proposals, advise and coach BuzzFeed tech team members on speaking publicly and how to best represent BuzzFeed within the Tech community.

You will:

-Create and curate content to engage tech communities while providing an inspirational brand voice.

-Manage social media channels and partner relations to position BuzzFeed as a tech employer of choice.

-Leverage social media channels, and outreach techniques to increase brand recognition in tech communities involving our own people in a coordinated effort

-Manage communications internally and externally for tech driven initiatives

-Independently pursue and maintain relationships with local vendors and businesses for event planning.

-Identify media engagement and public speaking opportunities

-Speak publicly with technical fluency about BuzzFeed’s tech team & strategy-Develop & maintain community engagement strategies and partnerships within digital & physical communities

-Manage the BuzzFeed Tech blog

-Write technical blog posts, tutorials, code examples.

-Be the face, act as a liaison and orchestrate execution of BuzzFeed Tech branded events.

-Facilitate introductions between BuzzFeed tech team members and external individuals with similar or complementary skill-sets and goals.
