Oscar is a small, fast-paced team using technology and design to revolutionize healthcare. As a Technical Program Manager you’ll play a key role in helping Oscar use leverage cutting edge technology to solve problems, from creating a plan of attack through to accelerating your team’s execution.

You’ll be a pivotal part of a cross functional team working with engineers, product managers, vendors and a wide range of internal stakeholders to implement and be a thought leader on technical implementation.

You’ll work on projects ranging from working out how one of our biggest customers channels (telephony) is implemented and operates in our call centers from a technical and operational perspective through to working with vendors to ensure integrations run smoothly.

As a TPM, you will need to be adaptable, collaborative and have a great understanding of how complex systems work.

You are:

• Technical. You have hands-on practical, deep technical experience that covers engineering fundamentals.
• Extra Brownie Points: You have a BS/BA in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent practical experience
• Experienced. You have worked in a technical project or program management role for 3+ years.
• A fast learner. Healthcare is complicated; you’re excited to get into the details and find smart solutions.
• An end-to-end thinker. You can look at a problem and create a solution all the way from top-level goals to nitty-gritty details.
• Collaborative. You love helping engineers, designers, operations experts, and other teams around you do their best work. You solve problems with others.
• Empathetic. You understand other disciplines and bring everyone together using clear communication and strong structured thinking
• Organized. You are a natural at team-level project management and getting things done.
• Above all: you are mature, open-minded, and nice. (No jerks allowed!)

Your day-to-day will include:

• Work with product, marketing and engineering teams to support projects and initiatives
• Act as the expert in a variety of different technical systems, part advice, part gatekeeper to make sure everything runs smoothly
• Support our technical leadership (like our CTO) when there are special projects or initiatives that need attention
• Haves inputs and a voice to the overall product roadmap in close collaboration with your team and key stakeholders.
• Being the go-to person when things break, helping co-ordinate the path to making things work again
• Working with engineers to create specs and implement features.
• Sometimes getting your hands dirty and doing some implementation yourself with the support of engineers
• Coordinating and organizing work across multiple perspectives and functions within Oscar.
