Technical Project Manager
About This Role
ShopKeep is seeking a Technical Project Manager with three to five years of proven experience delivering software in an Agile development environment, preferably in small product focused organizations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical reasoning, robust interpersonal skills, efficient time management practices, and a keen sense for driving projects to predictable and successful outcomes.
The TPM will negotiate with senior team members, manage customer facing projects with strict deadlines, write stellar release plans, and allocate teams for optimal performance -- whatever it takes to enable our engineers and product managers ship excellent releases on time and on budget.
This is a full-time position in our New York office.
Responsibilities
Lead technical project teams as required, including engagement with third parties, product managers, and internal partners, through all stages of the SDLC.
Ensure on time delivery and uncompromising product quality for assigned projects.
Facilitate the efficient alignment and planning of engineering resources to projects through close collaboration with Engineering leadership.
Provide management-level sprint and release planning. Analyze risk and mitigation accordingly, including contingency planning and initiating corrective action.
Coordinate participation of tech and business stakeholders in requirements gathering, specifications, design, development and implementation of key projects.
Foster a positive working dynamic between our staff, our customers and our partners.
Minimum Qualifications
3 - 5 years of experience leading technical projects.
1 - 2 years of experience with Lean methodologies, software engineering practices, and traditional project management approaches, including project management experience within the Agile Scrum framework.
Hands-on experience with supporting and teaching practices like Iteration Planning, Release Planning, Retrospectives, Writing User Stories and Acceptance Criteria, Velocity-based Planning, Continuous Delivery, Behavior-Driven Development
Exemplary verbal and written communications skills.
Effective user of story-management tools like Pivotal Tracker, JIRA, etc.
Experience in leading teams building web and mobile applications using established best practices.
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with modern storefront technology.
Ability to lead and motivate people to encourage performance and teamwork
Effective user of Google Apps, JIRA, Keynote, Confluence and Git.
Degree in a related technical field.
Willingness to travel.
Experience as a developer.
