About The Opportunity
This role is meant to evangelize Grubhub’s technology brand throughout the developer community across the country and promote Grubhub as a premier employer for technologists. It is also responsible for collaborating with technology and product leaders and interested individual contributors to provide a framework for telling our Grubhub technology story via blogs, speaking engagements, etc. This role will also be working with technology leaders to define and execute our Open Source Strategy. It will also focus on helping to shape the engineering culture to attract developers based on current industry trends. Technology Evangelist will be actively working with our PR and Marketing team to identify and shape technology and product content.
Some Challenges You’ll Tackle- Build out Grubhub’s presence on the web, creating an internal tech blog, creating content for outside sources and identifying the correct blogs, newsletters or websites to contribute
- Develop a consistent blog and content strategy and manage the blog posts
- Identify and attend conferences that are consistent with our technology strategy for recruitment, branding, and evangelism
- Work closely with PR and Marketing to identify, pitch, and secure speaking engagements, industry events, sponsorships, and hackathons specific to technology
- Help shape engineering culture by coming up with ideas, tools and infrastructure wherever you see a problem that needs to be fixed within the organization
- Meet and keep in contact with industry developers via in-person meetings, phone calls, emails, etc for passive recruiting
- Gain industry recognition and credibility as a regular attendee, panelist and speaker at technology conferences, trade shows, and press events
- Maintain a strong and credible preference in social media channels and blog posts relevant to developers
- Remaining up-to-date with internal technology teams and current projects to help sell candidates and evangelize Grubhub to the external tech industry
- Develop a vision and strategy to get more involved in the NYC, Chicago, SF, and country-wide tech industry
- Remain up-to-date with the technology industry to understand and stay ahead of industry trends
- Act as an internal developer champion and project manager for developer assets that we create and publish
- Collaborate with Hiring Managers and Tech Leaders to understand the industry and internal culture
