The role of the Trading Desk Developer is to develop a broad range of front-office solutions for trading desks. The developer works directly with the traders to understand their needs, and develop, test and support software in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 

The Trading Desk Developer will:

 

  • Maintain and enhance tools and reports used by trading desks
  • Improve existing trading applications in collaboration with other IT teams
  • Proactively identify ways software and automation can improve trading activities
  • Work with other IT teams to provide daily technical support for production trading systems
  • Establish a relationship with traders to provide guidance on technical questions

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial markets software development
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with C++ 
  • Proficiency in some of the following languages: Python, C++, C#, SQL, R, Excel/VBA 2010
  • Strong analytical skills, and troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
  • Good understanding of financial products like equities, futures, and options
  • Familiarity with source code version control systems
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure, independently and as part of a team
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and high aptitude for learning
  • High degree of integrity and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work trading hours (7-4)
