Backed by several of the top US venture capital firms, we’re looking to expand our operations and bring on a VP of Sales who has a passion for bringing new products and product categories to market. As our VP of Sales, you will use your strategic sales skills, existing relationships, and management experience to open new key accounts, build out a small sales team, and grow our network of distributors. We’ve been growing organically to date and are excited for you to join our success story.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the wholesale distribution strategy and sales plan for the company with documented goals and milestones that generate sales and maximize product awareness
  • Recruit and manage a team of in-house account executives, a national network of independent sales reps and a network of international distributors
  • Work with the CEO and marketing team to develop and implement partnerships with significant strategic customers in each channel category (i.e. fashion, electronics, gift, better mass, e-commerce)
  • Develop department budgets and forecasts for monthly customer demands and over deliver on key performance metrics
  • Assist with appropriate channel marketing: provide insight for in-store merchandising solutions, create trade show strategy, and effectively communicate brand and product knowledge
  • Consult with operations and accounting to establish a set of procedures for account management

REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of branded consumer product sales and sales team management experience – prefer experience selling fashion, better gift, or accessories brands to major retailers.
  • Sales experience must include 5 years or more of opening new key wholesale accounts and management experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with buyers, distributors, and team members
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building sales teams and new distribution networks
  • Excellent, proven leadership abilities
  • Fluency with managing financial terms, margins, and negotiating for optimal contracts
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus
  • Travel 40%, primarily US and some international
