BuzzFeed is looking for a resourceful video editor with speedy Premiere experience, impeccable organizational skills, and a curatorial eye. This is a contract position, expected to last for six weeks, averaging 40 hours per week.

Sitting with BuzzFeed News's dedicated News Video team, this person will be a key player in ensuring our news coverage reaches a wide audience across multiple platforms. 

Responsibilities:

• Edit 7-10+ breaking and social news videos a week; creative, fast, short, videos designed to share on Facebook and other social media platforms
• Work with BuzzFeed News curation team to quickly identify media in social ecosystem that could drive online conversation
• Organize and curate a flow of videos to distinct platforms
• Understand and fully grasp the needs of each ever-changing social media platform and their audiences.

Requirements:

• Producer: At least 4-7 years of experience producing online video content. Junior Producers with less experience but other applicable experience and great attitudes will also be considered
• Experience in newsroom environment
• Must be a fast editor who loves to work in Premiere
• An excitement to make videos around trending news topics
• A love of experimentation and trying to tell stories in new and different ways
• Proven ability to create compelling, shareable web videos of all types
• An ability to organize your time and have a solid understanding of how long your projects will take
• Ability to work on your own
