Video Resident, Beauty + Style

New York / Los Angeles

BuzzFeed Entertainment Group in New York is looking for an experienced and beauty-obsessed video producer who can create compelling short-form beauty, style, and hair content for the web and other digital platforms. The ideal candidate gets their beauty knowledge from social media and the pop culture landscape, and is enthusiastic about expanding the beauty conversation to a wide-reaching audience.

This position is a 3-month full-time residency based in our NYC or LA office. For the right person, this position could become full-time at the end of the 3 month period.

Responsibilities:

• Create, shoot, edit and produce videos from start to finish for our beauty and style properties on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube
• Research, conceptualize and create original videos around beauty, hair, makeup, nails, etc.
• Pioneer shareable new video formats and project types
• Collaborate with the Top Knot team

Requirements:

• Strong experience with video production, including DSLR cameras, lighting equipment, and editing. Can create videos quickly and independently.
• Proficiency editing in Adobe Premiere. After Effects is a bonus!
• Professional experience in creating videos about beauty products, trends, procedures, etc.
• A competitive drive -- you enjoy winning and really going for it
• Proven ability to create compelling, shareable web video
• Ability to work alone as well as in small teams
• Strong understanding of video metrics and how that information can influence future concepts.
• A positive, curious, and playful attitude (no haters!!)

Additional qualities:

• 1-3 years of experience in creating captivating videos to the internet (portfolio is a plus!)
