The Candidate
Our NYC team is looking for an exceptional Visual Designer with an inquisitive mind and the skills to execute stunning output. As an experienced Visual Designer, you have the ability gather all of the specs necessary to create comps and deliver on them. You are of the belief that quality is better than quantity and seek excellence and perfection in everything you do. You know the difference between working smarter and working harder. You have the ability to communicate clearly and simply in a visual style that speaks to our audience. You know how to use style/brand guides to frame your work, but bring new ideas to the table.
The Responsibilities
- Conceptualization and design for the Wink website, emails, and printed materials
- Production of assets ready for handoff to developers for web/email projects
- Clear ability to communicate visually and work within established patterns and brand
- Scoping, Documenting, Conceptualization, and Visual Design
- Work with product teams on visual asset creation and organization
- Collaborate with engineering team in the development of emails and website
- Communicate and present you and your team’s work appropriately
- Create fresh, fun, and engaging design that accomplish the goals of the marketing team and product team
- Participate in design critiques and exercises
- Design comps that make the complex and confusing the simple and understandable
- Leverage data in a way that informs your design decisions
The Qualifications
- Passion for what we are building at Wink
- Strong visual design skills
- Experience with designing for e-commerce websites
- Focused and strong attention to detail
- Superb time management and organizational skills
- Clear, concise, and transparent communication style
- Action-oriented, diligent, and flexible
- Experience with design-centered processes as well as proven methodologies for identifying and solving problems
- Clear examples of successfully working in collaborative environments
- Proficient with Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop or whatever tools you prefer
Bonus Points
- Understanding of HTML, CSS and/or Javascript
- Experience with Ruby on Rails
- Understanding and experience with Git
- Startup Experience and/or working in a lean environment
