We are seeking a VP of People to help steward the continued development and evolution of Kickstarter’s team.
The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced, well-rounded, strategic HR pro capable of leading the HR and HQ teams in all aspects of people operations and workplace experience. Your responsibilities will include working with individuals and teams across the organization as you tend to recruiting, onboarding, employee development, performance management, compensation, employee benefits, compliance, organizational design, employee relations, and our overall culture. This role is at the heart of Kickstarter and requires an experienced leader with a passion for providing a tremendous professional experience to our wonderful team.
You will:
  • Oversee hiring and recruiting, ensuring that Kickstarter’s talent acquisition practice attracts the best and brightest candidates
  • Lead the HR team in strategic decision making and execution related to all HR functions, including performance management, compensation, employee development, and benefits
  • Manage the HQ team, which sees to the overall workplace experience, including IT, employee events, reception, and facilities management
  • Cultivate a lively, productive, and healthy culture of engagement that inspires employees
  • Evaluate and optimize current processes, bringing in fresh perspectives, tools, and resources that will benefit the Kickstarter team
  • Support talent retention by helping employees access development opportunities and creating a comprehensive recognition program
  • Work closely with the executive team to support organizational needs and decision-making at the leadership level
  • Expand our diversity and inclusion efforts to ensure that Kickstarter is a comfortable, welcoming workplace for all
  • Serve as an employee advocate, mediator, and coach to effectively manage employee relations
  • Oversee HR and HQ budgeting and partner with the finance team to manage costs related to supporting and building the team
  • Tend to Kickstarter’s employment brand, strategizing with our Communications team in order to effectively convey our value proposition to a competitive talent market
  • Ensure Kickstarter is a model progressive workplace by staying up-to-date on policies, trends, and philosophies in management, performance, benefits
