Networking With Purpose, February 15th at 7 p.m.

Networking is a great way to grow your career, and over 70 percent of jobs are found through a connection at a company. This class will teach you how to network with a purpose. You’ll learn strategies and techniques to build a strong and diverse network that will actually take you someplace. Don't worry, you can keep your old friends too. 

Startup Talk with Noah Smith, February 17th at 5:30 p.m.

Noah Smith will speak about his experience starting and working at a startup, as well as his thoughts on future opportunities in the fintech space. Smith is a serial entrepreneur, having started several fintech companies including Open Capital Exchange. Smith is also credited with bringing the concept of brunch to Beijing — no joke.

How Tech is Revolutionizing Restaurant Operations, February 17th at 7 p.m.

Tech is reaching its tentacles into every aspect of business, and that includes the restaurant industry. Startups are developing point-of-sale-systems, customer relations management tools and more, all aimed at making the restaurant industry more efficient. This event will showcase the highlights of tech’s foray into the space. As you might expect, snacks will be served. 

Hiring Showcase w/ General Assembly and Alley, February 17th at 6:30 p.m.

and are teaming up to bring together some of New York’s hottest tech companies. This event will feature a happy hour at Alley NYC’s offices in Midtown, with companies presenting their products and teams. , Rezi and will be in attendance. 

Algorithms @ Betterment, February 17th at 6:30 p.m.

This monthly meetup is all about algorithms. The event is designed for beginners and hardened coders, and the two groups will be split up. Beginners will learn the basics of algorithms, while those that eat, sleep and breath them will have an opportunity to do some white boarding.
