Lunch Talk: Getting a job after bootcamp w/ Michael Angelo of the New York Times, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m.

Attending a coding bootcamp is a great first step toward a career in tech. But it’s just a first step. This event will detail how to start your job search. It’s led by Dev Bootcamp grad Michael Angelo, who landed a gig at the New York Times after his training.

December 2016 NY Tech Meetup and Afterparty, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.

This month’s meetup is focused on edtech, with more than 50 NYC educators coming together to hear how tech can change the classroom. After a series of demos, attendees will have a chance to mingle, meet the demoers and network at the afterparty.

NYCDA Graduate Showcase, Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m.

The New York Code + Design Academy’s Graduate Showcase brings together startups and corporate employers to see emerging tech talent. The night includes a keynote address, demos of the graduate projects and networking opportunities to meet up-and-coming devs.

December NY FinTech Happy Hour with ViaWest, Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m.

Come hang out with NYC’s FinTech community. This relaxed happy hour, hosted by ViaWest and Empire Startups, will feature drinks at Rise New York. It’s a great chance to see who else is building cool fintech things in the city and chat about the future of the finance industry.

Fail Friday (On a Thursday): Food Startups Share Lessons Learned, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.

Failure is part of startup life, especially in food tech. This event will go over how startups overcame early pitfalls, celebrating how failure helped turn companies like Green Seed Group and BRAMI into what they are today. And what would a food-focused gathering be without the snacks? Matt’s Kimchi, Wangs and others will be providing snacks.
