NYC startups rake in $135M in fundings this week

New York tech is booming. In one week’s time, seven local tech startups raised a total of $135 million. The top two fundings alone totaled $95 million. A number of different industries, including finance, marketing and healthcare, were represented, showing just how valuable technology is to nearly every business arena.

 

 

Raise, $60M Series C, Sept. 19

Investors: PayPal, Bessemer Venture Partners, New Enterprise Associates, Accel Partners

Online gift card marketplace Raise announced a $60 million Series C funding round led by Accel, an early investor of Venmo. The round also included other big names like PayPal. The startup will use the funding to enhance its platform and increase marketing efforts. [Built In NYC]

 

 

 

mParticle, $35M Series C, Sept. 20

Investors: Social Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, Harmony Partners

Customer data platform mParticle has had an action-packed year, which they’re continuing with their most recent $35 million Series C funding round. The investment, led Harmony Partners with participation from Social Capital and Bain Capital Ventures, will be used for expanding the platform’s capabilities. [Built In NYC]

 

 

 

Precision Health AI, $20M Series A, Sept. 20

Investor: SymphonyAI Group

Precision Health AI, an AI platform focused on oncology, announced it’s emerging from stealth mode with a $20 million Series A funding round led by SymphonyAI Group. The platform was created by technical and medical professionals and uses AI to analyze data and supply medical professionals with the insight they need to provide better patient outcomes. Pymetrics, $8M Series B Sept. 20

Investors: BBG Ventures, Randstad Innovation Fund, Khosla Ventures, Jazz Venture Partners

Pymetrics uses science-based games to help companies source and retain employees based on proven skillset alone. The company raised an $8 million Series B round led by JAZZ Venture Partners, who also joined the startup’s board. The round came alongside a grant from The Rockefeller Foundation that will allow high-potential at-risk youth to access the software. [TechCrunch]

 

 

 

Capsule8, $6m Series A, Sept. 19

Investors: ClearSky, Bessemer Venture Partners

Capsule8, the software that provides security for cloud-based environments, made a few big announcements. The company raised $6 million in Series A funding and appointed ClearSky Security Managing Director Jay Leek to its board of directors. The investment will be used to enhance the technology, which identifies and shuts down security attacks the moment they happen. [VC News Daily]

 

 

 

ResoluteAI, $3.3M Series A, Sept. 18

Investors: Steve Case, David Golden, Revolution Ventures

ResoluteAI is a platform that connects companies with innovative technology that drives their business forward. The startup announced a $3.3 million Series A funding round led by Revolution Ventures. The money will be put toward growing the company’s research team and expanding to international markets. [TechCrunch]

 

 

 

 

Menusifu, $3M, Series A, Sept. 20

Investors: Amino Capital, Jubilee Capital Management

Menusifu, a startup that provides solutions for the restaurant industry, announced a $3 million Series A funding round. The cloud-based point of sale (POS) platform caters to mobile-first customers. Amino Capital and Jubilee Capital Management participated in the round. [PE Hub]
