Cockroach Labs, a cloud database named after the resilient bug, raised a $55 million Series C round. Cockroach Labs is a cloud database platform that aims to withstand the craziest of crashes. The latest funding will be used to hire 30 more employees onto Cockroach Lab’s 100-person team to help it take on Oracle and Amazon. [Built In NYC]

ClassPass expands into the corporate wellness space, as it announces partnerships with Google, Morgan Stanley, Etsy and more. The new ClassPass program brings fitness and wellness to employees at corporate companies, according to Forbes. The company has also expanded its access to leading workout studios, gyms and other wellness experiences, like massages and sports recovery. TickPick raised $40 million, showing muscle in the ticket game. TickPick sets itself apart with its transparent ticket pricing: it allows customers to search specifically for their preferred price — with fees and everything. TickPick plans to hire 20 more employees, including a data engineering team that will build an AI component to better recommend tickets. [Built In NYC]

Cannabis tech company, LeafLink, inks $35 million in a Series B. LeafLink, headquartered in New York City and Los Angeles, is an online marketplace for cannabis brands and retailers. LeafLink announced it reached 1 billion in annualized orders, making it the largest marketplace for wholesale cannabis orders in the US. [Built In NYC]

Morty raised $8 million to make shopping for mortgages more like online shopping. The online platform in 34 states aims to help people through the mortgage process by making rates and other options more transparent. It also allows people to submit one application for multiple mortgages. The funding will go toward growing Morty’s reach. [Built In NYC]

DigitalOcean announced a new CEO and CFO. Joining the cloud network and service as CEO will be Yancey Spruill, previously COO and CFO at SendGrid. And the new CFO will be Bill Sorenson, formerly CFO at EnerNoc. Spruill says he plans to focus on the core business in his new role, according to TechCrunch. [TechCrunch]
