Hotmart acquired Teachable. The global platform for online courses acquired Teachable, which created a marketplace where teachers can sell their online classes to build their own classroom businesses. Teachable started in 2013 as Fedora. [TechCrunch]

Talkspace announced free therapy for healthcare workers. The therapy app will offer 1,000 months of free therapy for healthcare workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis in the United States. Help Main Street launched. The new website compiles information on where to buy gift cards for over 10,000 restaurants affected by the pandemic in NYC and San Francisco. Though that alone can’t bail out a business, it’s a good way to show support and give them some extra cash. [Crain’s]

Vodka company Air Co. creating hand sanitizer. The startup is pivoting its vodka production process to making hand sanitizer instead to help combat the spread of COVID-19. It’ll be donating all of the hand sanitizer produced to local communities and institutions. [Built In NYC]

Genvid raised an additional $6M. The company made a software development kit for video game developers that is focused on interactive streaming. Its total Series B funding now sits at $33 million. [Built In NYC]
