When he joined Entera in January 2021, Product Manager JT Jung found a mission-driven culture he enjoyed. He knew the company did important work, but what he didn’t expect was that its mission is aimed not just toward revolutionizing the way single-family investors buy, sell and operate homes but also toward building a workplace where talented professionals can grow and advance.

That pair of business and culture priorities is intertwined, according to Jung. “There’s a lot to be said about the company’s huge success amidst the market uncertainties, and I would credit the employees and leadership for inspiring a culture of excitement and dedication,” he said.

Awarded Built In’s 2023 Best Places to Work in both Houston and New York, Entera’s culture is underpinned by guiding principles that align employee values with high standards of doing business.

ENTERA’S VALUES

  • Be customer focused
  • Be curious
  • Be courageous and act with integrity
  • Be outcomes focused
  • Be open and honest
  • Be together
  • Be a culture add, not a culture fit

As indicated by its ‘be a culture add, not a culture fit’ value, the company invests in diverse talent who add new dimensions to the ideas, experiences and backgrounds of Entera’s workforce. These fresh perspectives, along with its encouragement of honest feedback focused on shared outcomes, amplify Entera’s environment of growth, while its other values support a culture in which  each individual is enabled to do their best work.

Empowering the team at Entera to succeed means managers place trust in their reports to work autonomously and own the process and outcomes of their projects.

“There is an entrepreneurial spirit about working at Entera, where everyone is driven by their passion for the industry and a desire to create change,” Jung said. “Away with unnecessary micromanagement and bureaucracy — people here recognize the importance of practicality and the value of getting things done, failing fast then iterating.”

Built In heard from Jung and his colleagues at Entera about how the company fosters an inclusive culture and equips employees to grow and excel in the industry that fuels their professional passion.
