5 NYC tech events you don't want to miss this week

Getting Started Building iOS Apps, November 14th at 6 p.m.

Who among us hasn’t had a great idea for an app? You have to start somewhere, and this hour-long bootcamp is a good place. The event will offer a chance to ask questions about Xcode, Swift and to learn how to take the next steps towards learning how to code your first app.

Cigars & Startups, November 15th at 5 p.m.

Cigars & Startups is launching in New York, with a conversation with Joshua Siegel, General Partner at Rubicon Venture Capital. Entry is $40 but that includes a drink and a cigar at the Soho Cigar Bar. 

How to Interview at a Tech Company, November 15th at 6:30 p.m.

Interviewing is stressful, and if this is your first time interviewing at a tech company, you may be surprised by some of the industry’s idiosyncrasies. Elijah Kim, a Product Engineer at Made by Many will be sharing what he learned from interviewing and working in the tech industry.

Culture is Critical: Creating Great Team Culture, November 15th at 6:30 p.m.

Great company culture doesn’t just happen. This event will feature two talks about cultivating culture led by representatives from Columbia University, SeatGeek, UpScored and Buzzfeed. The event is intended for anyone from job seekers to team leaders, and there’ll be a chance to network.

Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream Speed Coaching, November 15th at 7:30 p.m.

Sam Adams is joining up with Accion to bring their Speed Coaching event to New York. The event will feature a networking session, followed by a series of 20-minute sessions with Sam Adams employees, who will be giving personalize advice.
