Success After Graduation, February 13th at 6 p.m.

The Flatiron School has a remarkable track record of getting graduates into jobs. This talk is going one step further and will discuss finding a job at a company you actually want to work for.

After Work Networking and VR Mixer, February 13th at 6 p.m.

Networking, drinks and VR — do we really need to say more? This event will feature demos of the Oculus Touch similar to those Oculus is providing at Caesar’s Palace in Vegas.

Immigration for Startups, February 15th at 8 a.m.

It doesn’t really get much more topical than this. BizWorkshops is back and covering recent developments in immigration law and how these developments affect startups and entrepreneurs. Although, at this rate, whatever you learn on February 15th will be obsolete by the 16th.

The Future of Coding Education, February 15th at 6:30 p.m.

Coding education is a big deal these days and, chances are, it’ll only be a bigger deal in the future. This roundtable will discuss what coding education looks like now and explore ways that it will change and adapt to the future.

The Visualization of Deaths in the NYTimes, February 16th at 6:45 p.m.

A bit morbid? Sure. But, that’s kind of the point. This talk will explore the coverage of deaths in the New York Times and their impact on readers. To do so, they’ll use data, charts and interactive visualizations.

BONUS: Built In Brews at DigitalOcean, February 23rd at 5:30 p.m.

Sure, it’s not this week, but you should go ahead and mark the date on your calendar. Built In Brews is probably the best way to meet new people in New York tech, and it has the added benefit of being a ton of fun. Get a taste of life at DigitalOcean, and join some of their team for drinks, games and mingling. Their in-house DJ will be there, and obviously, there’ll be tons of food and drink.

That's it for this week. Check out our events page for a full listing of everything happening in NYC tech.
