I had the pleasure of interviewing Kevin Harrington about his background and upcoming podcast.

My questions are in bold and his answers follow:

For those of us who have never watched Shark Tank, could you tell us briefly about your background and claim to fame?

My background starts when in 1984 when I was watching the Discover Channel and the screen went dark for 6 hours. I found out it was an 18 hour network, so I set out to fill those empty 6 hours with amazing products. That's why I am called the Inventor of the Infomercial.

That lead me to do business with Tony Little, George Foreman, Jack LaLanne, Billy Mays and hundreds of other exciting presenters! One day I received a phone call from Mark Burnett to become on of the Original Sharks on Shark Tank. I'm called the Pioneer of the "As Seen On TV" Industry and I have launched over 500 products resulting in more than $5 Billion in sales in over 110 countries worldwide.

How has your personal brand played into your success?

In today’s competitive world, companies cannot operate the way they have in the past because of the advancements in technology and the digital marketplace. As an entrepreneur it is crucial to stay current and tuned in to the constant evolutions of that market; that is something that I have always prided myself on.

My personal brand as a successful entrepreneur for the last 40 years and my knowledge of building businesses has afforded me the opportunity to speak to over 100 million people across five continents. Today, I  operate a private consulting firm where I work with companies to increase distribution; analyze electronic retailing opportunities; effectively market on digital, social media, etc, providing advice and expertise on how to navigate the constant changing distribution and marketing outlets.

How does the podcast play into your personal brand?

Similar to what I do with my consulting firm, on the podcast Seth and I interview SharkPreneurs who share straight talk on what it takes to explode their business and increase their success rate.

When did you meet your cohost Seth and why did you decide to partner up?

Seth and I met in 2011 at an EO (Entrepreneurs' Organization) event and we decided to start a podcast together in July of 2016 because of our mutual interest in helping other entrepreneurs.

Looking into 2018, what are you goals with the podcast?

By 12/31/2018, we want to inspire 10,000 entrepreneurs to launch their own business podcasts.

Check out Kevin's podcast here online or here in iTunes.
