Bot empowers Keli’s content creators, increasing virality
NEW YORK, NY SEPTEMBER 19, 2017
The Keli Network, a leading media company that distributes video content on its vertically-focused social channels – including Gamology, Genius Club, Beauty Studio and OhMyGoal – has launched a video analysis tool powered by artificial intelligence (AI). The tool, called Winston, is designed to increase engagement with the company’s video content. Winston breaks down a multitude of attributes for each video including metrics on audience viewership, audience retention and drop-off, shares, views, likes, comments, and benchmarking against prior videos created. The tool provides a ranking of the video and offers suggestions on how and where improvements can be made. The bot combines these data points with a deep understanding of the algorithms populating social media feeds to help propel virality of content. Brands can utilize Winston’s capabilities when working in partnership with Keli to produce engaging, sharable videos for marketing purposes.
“AI tools like Winston are essential to our creators as they look for deeper insights and a better understanding of valuable content,” says Michael Philippe, Keli’s CEO and co-founder. “Winston’s judgments are fascinating, often quite unexpected but always of genuine value.”
During the creative process, Winston taps into Keli’s proprietary trend identification technology to alert content creators when a specific topic is going viral. Creators can then leverage Winton’s insights to ensure video themes and subject matter are relevant and timely. Once video production is complete, Winston provides insights on performance and delivers recommendations on how to further optimize the content. Improvements can range from replacing the video’s thumbnail with a higher performing image to suggesting a different flow for video content due to second-by-second drops in viewership.
“Winston is a particularly beneficial component of Keli’s service offering because our content creators are first and foremost enthusiasts about their category, not necessarily data analysts or video experts,” continues Philippe. “Winston is both, and the AI can provide our creators with the ongoing consultation they need to consistently produce great, sharable videos.”
Keli has doubled its network views each month since the start of 2017, surpassing 1.9 billion video views in August, and those numbers continue to rise. This rapid growth can, in large part, be attributed to the AI technology the company has developed that today culminates in the introduction of Winston.
