Industry Veteran Akiko Yoshitake Joins Tapad as Japan Commercial Director
NEW YORK, Sept. 12, 2017 -- Tapad, the leader in cross-device marketing technology, is expanding its team in the Asia Pacific region with the addition of industry veteran Akiko Yoshitake as its new commercial director in Japan. In this newly created position, Yoshitake will spearhead Tapad's operations and new business development efforts with local marketers, technology companies, and digital advertising agencies.
With nearly 20 years of experience in marketing and digital advertising in the APAC region, Yoshitake is introducing local demand-side platforms (DSPs), data management platforms (DMPs), publishers, e-commerce, and global licensing partners to the Tapad Device Graph™ and the company's product suite in Japan. She reports to Henry Schenker, Tapad's VP of APAC.
Prior to joining Tapad, Yoshitake was director of sales at Kenshoo in Japan where she was responsible for building relationships and revenue with direct advertisers and agencies. She also led partnerships with channel providers such as Facebook Japan and Yahoo! Japan, among others.
Before Kenshoo, Yoshitake spent 15 years at Cyber Communications Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Dentsu Inc., the largest advertising agency in Japan. At Cyber Communications, Yoshitake led the team that established the OpenX market ad exchange in APAC, and was head of the OpenX business for both APAC and Japan, lending to her strong understanding of the Japan programmatic ecosystem. In addition, she performed in roles of increasing responsibility spanning business management, new business development, product management, creative, and media planning. Yoshitake is a Certified Professional Marketer (Asia) by the Asian Marketing Federation (AMF) having completed a professional diploma in Asia Pacific Marketing at the National University of Singapore and Marketing Institute of Singapore (MIS) joint program.
"After launching in the APAC region just a short 15 months ago, we are thrilled to be expanding Tapad's footprint into Japan," said Schenker. "Yoshitake-san is a well-respected digital advertising industry executive with undeniable local expertise. She's already creating significant inroads in this critical market with local companies. We're lucky to have her as part of the growing Tapad APAC team."
"Tapad's aggressive growth and development across the region and into Japan is a very exciting development for the industry," said Yoshitake. "I am thrilled to be part of Tapad's latest initiative to introduce its award-winning cross-device technology to local advertisers and agencies."
