About Middesk

Middesk makes it easier for businesses to work together. Since 2018, we’ve been transforming business identity verification, replacing slow, manual processes with seamless access to complete, up-to-date data. Our platform helps companies across industries confidently verify business identities, onboard customers faster, and reduce risk at every stage of the customer lifecycle.

Middesk came out of Y Combinator, is backed by Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners, and was recently named to Forbes Fintech 50 List and cited as an industry leader in business verification by digital identity strategy firm, Liminal.

About the Role:

Middesk is deepening its presence across financial services, and we’re looking for a Strategic Mid-Market Account Executive to lead our efforts in acquiring and expanding relationships with fast-growing banks, fintechs, lenders, and payment providers.

This role is perfect for a seasoned AE with strong technical fluency, proven experience selling into financial institutions, and a desire to make an outsized impact at a company approaching its next stage of growth. You’ll own the full sales cycle—from pipeline generation to close—on strategic mid-market accounts, often partnering with Solutions Engineers to build custom, high-value solutions.

If you're motivated by building something meaningful, collaborating cross-functionally, and taking the leap toward enterprise sales, this is your opportunity.

We follow a hybrid work model, and for this role, there is an expectation of 2 days per week in our NY office. Candidates should be based within a commutable distance, as we believe in the value of in-person collaboration and building strong team connections while also supporting flexibility where possible.

What You’ll Do:
  • Drive Net-New Growth: Own and grow a book of strategic mid-market accounts across fintech, lending, and financial services—prioritizing net-new acquisition and expansion in high-potential segments.

  • Sell Strategically: Create tailored, consultative sales motions aligned to product, compliance, and risk buyer needs. Identify and influence decision-makers across complex deal cycles.

  • Be Product-Oriented: Approach sales with a strong product mindset—understand our APIs, dig into customer workflows, and collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape solutions that solve real business problems.

  • Build Deep Relationships: Serve as a trusted advisor to customers and prospects, engaging senior stakeholders and partnering with technical resources to shape solutions.

  • Partner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate closely with Solutions Engineering to manage technical evaluations and deliver compelling proof-of-value. Share insights with Product to influence roadmap decisions.

  • Operate Like an Owner: Leverage strong prospecting skills, outbound discipline, and a deep understanding of our space to create opportunities in both named and whitespace accounts.

  • Represent Middesk in Market: Stay current on KYB, business identity, and compliance trends, bringing thoughtful insights to customers and helping position Middesk as a category leader.

What We’re Looking For:
  • 5+ Years of B2B Sales Experience: You’ve carried a quota and consistently outperformed in SaaS or API-driven businesses, ideally with complex, multi-stakeholder deals. Specifically 2 years in top tier Mid Market accounts.

  • Experience Selling to Banks & Fintechs: You know how to navigate compliance, product, and risk buyers within regulated industries—and can speak their language.

  • Strong Technical Acumen: You’re comfortable in product-oriented conversations and partnering with Solutions Engineers to unpack customer API workflows.

  • Startup-Stage Operator: You’ve worked in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment and know how to self-direct while contributing to team goals.

  • Skilled Prospector: You generate your own pipeline and aren’t afraid to go deep to unlock a hard-to-reach buyer.

  • Experience in one of the following:

    • Experience in KYB, identity verification, or compliance-related software

    • Background in API-first or data infrastructure products

    • Strong B2B SaaS selling experience into Banks or Fintech companies
