ROLE:

Saavn is seeking a hands-on Accountant to support the Finance team in various functions. This role reports directly to the Director of Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the preparation of internal and external reporting
• Analyze and reconcile all balance sheet accounts and maintain schedules
• Review and adjust departmentalized P&L
• Record payroll in QuickBooks (QB’s)
• Prepare journal entries in QB’s, as required
• Prepare quarterly commission calculation
• Import AMEX activity into QB’s, code and post to GL
• Record intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany account at quarter end
• Record capitalization of intangible assets and amortize on a monthly basis
• Record accruals at month end
• Pay vendor invoices and respond to vendor inquires
• File A/P invoices
• Other projects, as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• 3 - 4 years of progressive accounting experience
• Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel a must
• Excellent financial accounting and reporting skills with attention to detail
• Some experience working with companies using paid subscription models to bill customers /users; familiar with subscription revenue accounting
• Experience with companies in digital subscriptions or digital advertising industry with subscription-based billing operations
• Knowledge of and the ability to navigate Company through the regulations of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strategic thinker and problem solver with the ability to transform goals into actionable plans
• Previous experience in a high-growth, fast pace environment with the ability to multi task and work well under pressure
