Handshake is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist
Handshake is looking for a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment for the position of Accounts Receivable Specialist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Track and collect accounts receivable
- Work with Sales and Finance departments to create an efficient and effective collections process
- Manage new billing system; responsible for accuracy and efficiency
- Support commission process through visibility into payments
- Support revenue recognition efforts
- Match customer orders to signed agreements and cross reference agreement terms and conditions with booked orders; address exceptions with relevant parties
- Responsible for all outgoing payments
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 4+ years of broad experience within accounting/billing environment, preferably for a software company or in a subscription billing environment
- Experience at an early stage company and a company at scale preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in related field is a plus
- A strong foundation and experience in working within A/R and/or financial systems is essential
- Understanding of GAAP and audit concepts and requirements.
- Strength in working with cross-departmental teams to resolve customer billing issues
- Interest in working in an all-hands-on-deck, fast-paced team environment
- Experience with Salesforce, Recurly, or other quote-to-cash and commission tracking platforms a plus
