Job Description:

The AI/Automation Development Lead is a pivotal leadership role within our rapidly evolving AI & Automation team. As we transition from a flat organizational structure, this position will lead a small team of developers while maintaining hands-on technical contributions. This role combines advanced full-stack development capabilities with AI/automation expertise and strong data engineering skills to deliver innovative solutions that drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Development

  • You'll lead full-stack application development using vibe coding methods and AI-assisted development practices

  • You'll architect and implement end-to-end solutions incorporating data pipelines, automation workflows, and AI capabilities

  • You'll design and maintain scalable data models (Star Schema, Snowflake, ER modeling) supporting enterprise analytics

  • You'll develop sophisticated Power BI dashboards, ETL processes, and real-time reporting solutions

  • You'll implement automation solutions using UiPath, Power Platform, and custom scripting (Python, PowerShell)

  • You'll leverage AI platforms (OpenAI, Claude, Copilot) to accelerate development and enhance solution capabilities

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • You'll lead and mentor a combined team of onshore and offshore developers

  • You'll establish development standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes across distributed teams

  • You'll drive adoption of vibe coding methodologies and AI-assisted development across the team

  • You'll facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-training to build comprehensive team capabilities across time zones

  • You'll participate in hiring and onboarding new team members as the function grows

Strategic Solution Delivery

  • You'll collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • You'll lead discovery sessions and requirements gathering for complex projects

  • You'll design solutions that optimize existing systems, processes, and workflows

  • You'll ensure solutions align with security, compliance, and governance standards

  • You'll drive rapid delivery timelines while maintaining quality and sustainability

Requirements

Technical Expertise

  • 5+ years of full-stack development experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities

  • Advanced AI/Automation Development:

    • Proven experience with AI platforms (OpenAI, Claude, Copilot) and integration techniques

    • Experience with AI-powered development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar)

    • Proficiency with Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI)

  • Data Engineering & Analytics:

    • Strong ETL experience using Azure Data Factory or other ETL platforms, complex data modeling, and performance optimization

    • Expert-level SQL capabilities for data querying, extraction, and transformations

    • Experience with data modeling techniques (Star Schema, Snowflake, ER modeling)

    • Understanding of data governance, quality, and security principles

  • Programming & Scripting:

    • Advanced Python, JavaScript, and/or PowerShell scripting capabilities

    • Experience with vibe coding methodologies and AI-assisted development

    • API development and integration experience

    • Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

  • Leadership & Project Management

    • Proven team leadership experience with ability to mentor and develop technical talent

    • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management

    • Strong stakeholder management

    • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences

  • Business Acumen

    • Understanding of business processes across finance, operations, HR, and IT functions

    • Experience designing solutions that align technology with business objectives

    • Familiarity with cost optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives

    • Knowledge of compliance, security, and governance requirements

Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Certifications: AI platform certifications (OpenAI, Azure AI, AWS AI/ML), development certifications (Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud)

  • Enterprise Experience: Track record of delivering solutions in large corporate environments

  • AI Governance: Experience with AI implementation governance and best practices

  • DevOps/DataOps: Knowledge of CI/CD practices and data operations

This position will be hybrid with people leadership reporting to the SVP - Technology Improvements Director.

Employees who live within a commutable distance of one of our hub offices, currently located in Chicago, metro Detroit, Los Angeles, and New York City, are required and expected to work from the office three days per week (two days per week for employees based in Los Angeles). Dentsu may designate other Hub offices at any time. Those who live outside a commutable range may be designated as remote, depending on the role and business needs. Regardless of your work location, we expect our employees to be flexible to meet the needs of our Company and clients, which may include attendance in an office.

The annual salary range for this position is $113,000 - $182,850. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
