The Wealth Management National Sales organization supports the Firm’s Financial Advisors by managing the field sales support of non-banking products and the business development functions for our branch network.

The Alternative Investments Advisor Relations Team, as part of the 35-member Alternative Investments Sales Team, is responsible for Financial Advisor and client service strategy. The Alternative Investments Advisor Relations Team enables greater communication of fund information for the Alternative Investments business across Private Equity, Private Credit, Venture Capital, Infrastructure and Private Real Estate funds. The Alternative Investments platform has approximately $285 billion of assets under management.

The Alternative Investments Advisor Relations Associate will partner with the Sales, Product and Research segments to ensure a unified approach to relationship management and client service. The Alternative Investments Advisor Relations Associate will become a product specialist, interacting with all levels of the organization, to complete investor requests and to execute on various large initiatives in an organized, concise fashion. The successful candidate must be resourceful, proactive, detail-oriented and have a strong ability to multitask and be a collaborative team player.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to handle multiple projects at a time.
  • Collaborate across internal groups to oversee the response to investor requests and questionnaires.
  • Articulately communicate with key internal stakeholders in a knowledgeable, clear, and professional fashion.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to take a proactive, problem-solving approach to work.
  • Demonstrated comfort with presenting in front of both small and large groups.
  • General knowledge and comfort level with financial concepts and financial markets.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • 2-5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: investor relations, client service and/or sales.
  • Experience working with private funds and deep knowledge of the Alternative Investment asset management industry required; knowledge of real estate, infrastructure and/or private equity preferred.
  • Experience working directly with private fund investors, with a focus on servicing investors to build and strengthen relationships.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Series 7 and 66 licenses required upon hire or within 4 months of joining the team.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $57,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
