We're looking for a Business Analyst to help us accomplish our mission to improve lives by learning from the experience of every cancer patient. Here's what you need to know about the role, our team and why Flatiron Health is the right next step in your career.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will contribute to building the data platform that allows our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team to support its customers in optimizing operations and growing their businesses. You will partner with product managers, software engineers, and data scientists on data acquisition, ETL, and data modeling. Furthermore, our internal RCM operational team synthesizes customer feedback, and you will work with them to understand customer data needs and bring those analyses to life. Critically, you will communicate early and often with our RCM stakeholders in any given work stream. In addition, you will:

  • Create client-facing reporting and dashboards that drive internal workflows using our visualization tool, Looker, which will often involve writing new custom queries in SQL
  • Identify gaps in our existing data model, and either do the data modeling to fill the gap directly, or work with engineering teams to advocate for the data to make it available. You may also collaborate with third party companies that share data with us.
  • Work with product teams to improve existing products that generate source data, and ideate on new products to capture additional data for better insight into operational processes
  • Support internal team operations and company goals by providing data analyses to characterize our service offering or support business development
  • Help improve feedback loops, so we can continuously prioritize effectively
  • In general, be a go-to resource for company-wide efforts around the data sources you work with

Who You Are

You're a creative thinker with 2+ years of experience working with data, building visualizations, and iterating with stakeholders.. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact.

  • You are proficient with SQL (or a similar query language)
  • You are an expert in a data visualization tool (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI)
  • You have strong analytical skills and an ability to synthesize results into strategies to achieve business objectives
  • You have impeccable written and verbal communication skills and an ability to speak to your audience at the appropriate level of detail
  • You are comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity, with a proven ability to quickly develop hypotheses and next steps with limited information
  • You have a bachelor’s degree

If this sounds like you, you'll fit right in at Flatiron.

Extra Credit

  • You have experience within Healthcare and/or Oncology
  • You have experience with medical practice management software and reporting tools
  • You have experience working in the business office or analytics/strategy group of a healthcare provider
  • You have experience on a data analytics, visualizations, or insights team at a data driven or high-end technology company
  • You have experience with Looker data visualization software
  • You have experience working with Python, and some familiarity specifically with Spark or pandas
  • You have used git in your day-to-day workflows
