This role requires on site collaboration. You must be able to commute to our West 22nd Street office in New York.

About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst to support the Product Manager and development teams by conducting system testing, regression testing, troubleshooting analysis using SQL, documenting system behavior, and ensuring product quality throughout the software lifecycle. The role also contributes to clarifying requirements, supporting specification development, analyzing product usage, and documenting workflows to help drive successful product releases.

Responsibilities

  • Execute functional, regression, and user acceptance testing to ensure high-quality, stable releases.
  • Develop test cases, test scripts, and acceptance criteria based on expected system behaviors and provided requirements.
  • Use SQL to investigate issues, validate data, analyze defects, and confirm system logic.
  • Document test results, system workflows, release details, and identified issues.
  • Reproduce reported defects, conduct analysis to pinpoint root causes, and collaborate with development teams to resolve them.
  • Analyze product usage patterns and system interactions to identify potential issues or improvement opportunities.
  • Provide clarification on system behavior and expected functionality to internal teams.
  • Assist the Product Manager with requirements clarification, functional documentation, and refinement of specifications as needed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, QA Analyst, or related role with a strong testing focus.
  • Proficiency with SQL for querying, data validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and regression cycles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and ability to collaborate with product, QA, and development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Familiarity with APIs, data structures, or system integrations.
  • Experience with BI or analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience using issue tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
