About the role:
Tens of thousands of people go to work every morning in a workspace that is managed by Q. An office services marketplace, Q connects companies to the services necessary to managing a workspace, including cleaning, maintenance, office administration, IT and security. A combination of highly-trained service providers and sophisticated technology enable seamless office management, unlocking productivity within businesses and their employees.
Our Category Managers are tasked with leading a large vertical within the Q Marketplace. This highly cross-functional role requires both strategic thinking and an execution-oriented leader. Our Category team works closely with Fulfillment, Partner Acquisition, and Customer Experience within the Marketplace.
The role reports into the VP of Category Management.
About you:

- You have an eye for the best partnership opportunities to grow a business and invested in their growth and success
Responsibilities:
- Manage the P&L of a major vertical (e.g. cleaning or maintenance)
- Manage a team of Associate Category Managers and be responsible for their coaching and performance management
- Lead major team initiatives and strategy efforts like Partner performance management and systems development
- Lead relationships with critical teams at Q (Product, Engineering, Data, Account Management, Fulfillment)
- Define service pricing and fee structure
- Manage customer meetings for category feedback
- Develop marketplace product requirements for your category and services
- Develop training guidelines and service fulfillment requirements
- Lead your category development through city expansion
- Establish appropriate partnerships within categories for category improvement and distribution
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of business management, strategy, product, growth, or merchandising experience
- Experience with working in a two-sided marketplace businesses, a plus
- Start-up technology experience strongly preferred
- Proven track record of research, ideation, testing and building
- Ability to coordinate, lead and synthesize customer development meetings
- Start-up founder mentality
- MBA preferred
