What you’ll work on

Every day is different, but here’s an example of the kind of things you’ll ultimately be working on:

• Building a network — You’ll identify the major players in the CLO world and
  figure out how to collaborate with them on data

• Maintain databases — You’ll be responsible for keeping CLO data up to date

• Produce reports — You’ll identify trends and produce data-themed CLO reports 

About You

This role will be a great fit if you are:

• Experienced — 1+ year working in data journalism/business development/data/analysis or any other area of credit markets

• Personable — Able to build relationships with key market participants and get them
  comfortable with sharing data

• A team player — Comfortable working with journalists and analysts by digging into trends and collaborating on reports

• Detail-oriented — Able to understand nuance and hone in on important details, without losing sight of the bigger picture

• IT experience — Experienced Excel user (other data software a bonus) and some familiarity with data visualization and analysis techniques

Our CLO editorial team places a high value on collecting this data, making it usable and uncovering themes that our audience might be over-looking. The goal is to explore data and present insightful analysis. 

This is an exciting time to be covering the CLO asset class, which has in recent years emerged as a mainstream investment. 9fin covers the leveraged finance market, reporting on new high yield bond and loan issuances. This syncs neatly with our CLO coverage where we seek to answer the question: what happens to this form of debt after it has been issued?
