The Role: Company Planner

As a Company Planner, you will oversee and manage the financial aspects of merchandise planning and inventory management of multiple categories, either directly or through guiding an Associate Company Planner.

You will leverage data analysis to optimize inventory levels, maximize sales, and achieve financial objectives in collaboration with your merchandise partners and other cross functional teams.

 What You’ll Do:

  • Strategic Thinking
    • Develop and execute comprehensive merchandise financial plans, including budgets, sales forecasts, and inventory targets for multiple departments.
    • Drive and optimize the in-season OTB process to maximize profitability.
    • Establish financial strategies that align with overall business objectives and market trends.
  • Financial Agility
    • Optimize inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess inventory and markdowns.
    • Utilize advanced forecasting methodologies to project future sales and inventory needs.
  • Results Driven
    • Organize and prioritize workload for self (and direct reports) to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
    • Accountable for team decisions and subsequent business impact.
    • Identify opportunities for enhanced tools and process improvements to drive planning efficiency and accuracy.
  • Leadership
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the merchandise planning team.
    • Actively participate in self-development.
    • Participate in developing a planning team with the ability to identify strategies supported by sound financial plan. 
    • Build trust and drive engagement across RGG Organization and support company decisions.
  • Communication
    • Build and foster effective relationships with Merchandising, Programing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of Merchandising strategies to support overall business objectives.
    • Influence decisions within the Planning team and cross-functionally.
    • Possess solid presentation skills and the ability to build sound business cases.

 About You:

  • 3+ years’ experience in merchandise planning, retail buying, or a related role.
  • Knowledge of retail industry trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced working environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or another quantitative field preferred
  • E-commerce experience preferred.

Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000

Rue Gilt Groupe is committed to providing Associates with equal pay for equal work and

carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including prior experience, skills and expertise, location, and internal equity. Our goal is to support, reward and compensate the entire individual. Depending on role eligibility, your offer may also include bonus/commission, equity, 401(k) match, and a variety of benefits. Therefore, final offer amounts may vary from the amount stated.
