Candidate Interview Guide

Content Strategist

It’s Alma’s mission to fill the gaps that exist in the broader healthcare ecosystem, so that we can remove barriers to quality care. As a Content Strategist on Alma’s Customer Experience team, you will play a vital role in that mission by translating complex technical concepts from our healthcare environment into simple, accessible content for Alma’s customers.

In the short term, you will craft and execute messaging strategies for high-value Alma help content, empowering our providers and clients to understand their insurance landscape and use our platform and product effectively to solve problems.

In the long term, you will use data to craft multi-channel, scalable content strategies to align with provider and client goals, Alma business needs, and industry best practices. You will collaborate cross-functionally with CX managers, product managers, operations managers, and product designers to ensure that our help content is integrated with the user experience and truly empowers providers and clients to navigate the healthcare landscape with confidence.

What you’ll do:

  • Translate difficult and esoteric insurance and technical content into straightforward and accessible resources that providers and clients can use to achieve the outcomes they’re looking for
  • Design inclusive multi-channel messaging strategies to engage providers and clients, so that they are informed and empowered with the information they need to use our product and services
  • Manage resources (including our CX Style Guide) to enable consistent content across the full Alma support ecosystem (including Support Center, AI tooling, and customer interactions)
  • Analyze and optimize content performance by using data to identify how our data is and isn’t meeting customer and business needs
  • Provide end-to-end project management for technical writing requests, including setting messaging strategy, writing deliverables, and getting stakeholder buy-in for final alignment before publication
  • Develop future support content strategy and iterate over time, with the goal of building Alma’s support content into a value-adding product in its own right

Who you are:

  • You have 3-5 years of content experience in a complex and nuanced technical field
  • You have expertise in presenting highly technical subject matter in an engaging, accessible voice. You know how to break down tough concepts with clear action items and without jargon
  • You have solid project management skills, with experience overseeing the end-to-end content lifecycle
  • You can manage multiple content projects at once, including supporting stakeholders to understand trade-offs when priorities compete with one another
  • You have used data to gather customer insights and make recommendations on how to iterate content strategies accordingly. You’re confident when measuring the impact of your work and determining next steps to achieve business goals
  • You have cultural humility, can build relationships across differences, and have excellent communication skills

Benefits:

  • We’re a remote-first company
  • Health insurance plans through Aetna (medical and dental) and MetLife (vision), including FSA and HSA plans
  • 401K plan (ADP)
  • Monthly therapy and wellness stipends
  • Monthly co-working space membership stipend
  • Monthly work-from-home stipend
  • Financial wellness benefits through Northstar
  • Pet discount program through United Pet Care
  • Financial perks and rewards through BenefitHub
  • EAP access through Aetna
  • One-time home office stipend to set up your home office
  • Comprehensive parental leave plans
  • 11 paid holidays, 1 Alma Mental Health Day, and 1 Alma Volunteering Day
  • Flexible PTO

Salary Band: $100,000 - $125,000

Alma’s compensation philosophy is driven by our company value of building equity. To best ensure pay equity, we typically bring in new hires near the middle of our listed salary bands and we do not negotiate our compensation (i.e. all people hired at the same level & role are brought in at the same salary, equity, and benefits). The recruiter you work with can provide more details on our philosophy.

All Alma jobs are listed on our careers page. We do not use outside applications or automated text messaging in our recruiting process. We will not ask for any sensitive financial or identification information throughout the recruiting process. Any communication during the recruitment process, including interview requests or job offers, will come directly from a recruiting team member with a helloalma.com email address.
