Ro is looking for an Associate Director of Social Media to be a key player in growing our social media channels and fostering a digital community around our purpose of radically improving life for every one of us. Reporting to the Director of Content and Community, this role will invigorate our current social media channels and launch new verticals to communicate with current and prospective patients of all Ro brands (Roman, Rory, et al). This person will be a major stakeholder in our messaging, content, and development that will establish our brands as industry leaders in both the burgeoning telehealth category and the digital ecosystem at large. This forward-thinking and thoughtful communicator will capture the attention and trust of our patients while maintaining laser-sharp focus on the metrics that drive our success.

This role will sit on the Marketing team, reporting to the Director of Content and Community and work closely with Growth, CRM, Product, and Design, with constant counsel and consistent collaboration with our Legal and Medical teams.

What kind of person will thrive in this position? Hopefully, you. We are looking for a social media marketing obsessive. If you can’t stop exploring the latest platform, please read on.

You are a strategic marketing leader who is passionate about thinking and acting consumer-first and can have deep empathy for patients looking to improve their health. You’ve managed and/or been part of brand social media teams in fast-paced environments and created winning franchises across the entire customer journey. You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and do the work yourself. Your mind is art + science. You can translate data and insights into an actionable strategy and then craft authentic content around the learning—you balance creativity and performance in a way that threads the needle between business objectives and social media clout. Oh, and you knew the word “cheugy” way before the Times wrote about it.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as the lead strategist on Ro’s consumer social media channels - Roman, Rory, and more.
  • Create content calendars that best utilize the brands’ business objectives as well as partner initiatives, and organic content that will keep the channels buzzing with an always-on approach
  • Work toward KPIs around community engagement and growth that will help introduce Ro’s ethos and solutions to current and future patients
  • Launch verticals on current and new platforms that make sense for Ro’s brands
  • Create playbooks around each channel with the understanding that different platforms require different types of content and communication
  • Conceive, and bring to fruition, cutting edge content that resonates with our audience and the potential patients
  • Partner with other stakeholders in the organization to synthesize their ideas for social media communications
  • Shepard content from inception to publication (and then the commenting once live) through every step of the process
  • Liaise with partners from legal, medical, and marketing to ensure all social media assets are legally and medically sound
  • Partner with the consumer insights team and data science teams, to take key learnings and integrate them into future planning.
  • Be metrics obsessed: Regularly deliver reports on performance toward KPIs including both learnings and actionable plans based on insights
  • Nurture, with Patient team, a pipeline from the public back to internal for insights on our brand’s perception and performance
  • Connect the powerful stories that emerge from our patients to our wider Ro brand strategies and activation
  • Liaise with internal personalities and brand influencers on Ro’s voice, direction, and requirements
  • Manage social media content budget with an eye on ROI
  • Know the latest trends, best practices, and rules of social media platforms

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • 7+ years of experience in social media across channels for nationally recognized consumer brands (DTC or e-commerce is a plus)
  • 3+ years of leadership and people management experience
  • Storytelling prowess–you understand how to connect with the consumer in a way that gets them to take action
  • Fluency in all established and emerging social media platforms
  • Digital expertise in using social media planning and scheduling
  • Strong analytical and data skills required and experience working with reporting tools in a data-driven environment
  • A roster of experienced freelance content creators to call on as needed
  • Motivated self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-moving, ever-changing, results-driven environment
  • Excellent presentation skills and communications abilities at all levels, both internally and externally to partners and other 3rd parties
  • Willingness to jump in, as needed, to execute against time-sensitive projects
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in related field or equivalent professional experience
  • A killer portfolio that showcases your expertise and fit for this role
  • A strong distrust in Instagram filters

Benefits + Perks:

  • Full medical, dental, and vision insurance + OneMedical membership
